Is Your Breakfast Ruining Your Day

Tired at 3pm?


Don’t worry. It's not you, it's your breakfast. 

It's not your lack of willpower or motivation that is causing you want sweet stuff all day long or need coffee to get through the day...

It's your breakfast, babe. 

Did you know that what you have for breakfast affects your cravings for sweet stuff and your energy levels ALL DAY long?! 

Yup. 

What you choose to eat for breakfast can either set you up for a rollercoaster of cravings and energy crashes all day long or it can set you up for a day of no cravings and good, steady energy all day long without relying on caffeine. 

What if cravings and 3pm energy slumps could be a thing of the past??? 

If you are currently eating any of the below for breakfast, it will be affecting your cravings, mood and energy: 

  • Orange juice, fresh squeezed included. 300ml has just as much sugar as a coke. 

  • A fruit smoothie- the more tropical fruit like mango, pineapple, banana, the worse it is

  • Oatmeal

  • Granola

  • Cereal

  • Acai bowls

  • Low fat fruit flavoured yogurt

  • Low fat fruit flavored yogurt with fruit and granola is really gonna rocket you to cravings and crashes

Sadly, breakfast is the worst time to eat just sugar and starches, however it’s the time when most of us have just sugar and starches like the above in traditional breakfast foods of the western world. 

All of these options are going to really spike your blood sugar as a breakfast, first meal of the day, eating on an empty stomach option.  They will cause whatever you eat for lunch and dinner to create bigger blood sugar spikes since you had a large spike at breakfast!!! 

YES, I repeat. What you eat for breakfast will also determine how your lunch and dinner affect your blood sugar levels.

The best thing you can do to start your day off right is opt for a savory breakfast.  Eating a savory breakfast is an easy change to make and will have an effect on your entire day. 

What to eat for breakfast for steady glucose levels that won’t send you crashing and craving? A breakfast that contains a good amount of protein, fiber, and fat. 

An easy option is eggs! Cook them in some grass fed butter, add some spinach, avocado and done. You will feed satisfied and have longer lasting energy without the crashes and cravings all day long.
